You can save the email and just open the attachmet when you want to view it. Well I can save videos from other sources to my ipad to "photos" in an album I added titled "videos" with no problem. It seems like the gmail ipad app would be capable of saving videos there as easy as other apps such as dropbox and safari.

If you have the Dropbox application on your phone, Move the file over to Drop Box and then Drop Box will give you the option the download the file.
